Increasing Our Faith
Faith doesn't come through reasoning alone but rather through experiencing God's working out the truth of the Bible in our lives.
Faith is the key that opens the door to knowing God.
Time and time again He reminds us to "hold fast". These words imply an intimacy as in a marriage. He wants us to rest in His arms of love.
1 Corinthians 2:5
My faith does not rest in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.
2 Corinthians 4:13
We believe, therefore we speak. Sometimes we have to say it over and over again! This is our grip on God!

His Spirit works in us to will and do His good pleasure. This is God's grip on us - His grace.

15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry..

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [overflows).
John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

Psalm 57:2-3
I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. He sends orders from heaven and saves me, He humiliates those who kick me around. God delivers generous love, he makes good on his word.
Psalm 119:50
This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life.
2 Corinthians 4;17-18
For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

2 Corinthians 2:14
But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.
Faith in the Son of God 1 John 5:1-5
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God's children if we love God and obey his commandments. 3 Loving God means keeping his commandments, and really, that isn't difficult. 4 For every child of God defeats this evil world by trusting Christ to give the victory. 5 And the ones who win this battle against the world are the ones who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
