"I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you even as your soul is getting along well." - 3 John 1:2
Isn't that a good sentence? And, it is true, I pray that you may be in good health.
My wife, Nancy, was sewing a special project for one of our grandchildren when she exclaimed: "Oh no, the thread broke!" Well, the reason was - too much tension had been put on the thread.
Now, in my life if there is too much tension, I will (like the thread) tend to "break". So, I have learned to live with less tension. It is like - well, learn to relax and let go. Learn to speak quietly. Try to relax my body with it tendons and ligaments.
Hard? Yes. Possible? Yes. There are many things (and people) that would cause a person (you) to get up tight. Sometimes I say to myself, "I can't change this situation, so just let it go, Neal."
In the regard to health, a lot of people are trying to get good health and seeking it as if one would go to a department store and "buy" it. But what I could call the Kingdom of Health is not something that can be bought - it is within you. It is to sit quietly or to lie down still IN THE PRESENCE OF JESUS is awesome...and beneficial. It does lead to health with less tension.
Our Father, I ask that this one be in good health. There are many kinds of health, so I speak specifically to the health of their physical body. May you, in the name of Jesus, touch this one with physical health. For the other kind of health, I ask, in the name of Jesus, that they be given your touch; the touch that would relieve tension and give peace.
Amen
