Words for Courageous Living

March 30th

How Far Can You See?

I am typing these words high in the mountains. I am perhaps 40 miles from the nearest town or city. After awhile when it gets dark, I will be able to see the stars. I mean, I will REALLY BE ABLE to see the stars. Why? Because of the lack of lights from a town or city. Being free from lights of all kind, I can see the vastness of the majesty of the sky with all its stars.

No doubt you, also, have on occasions, seen the vastness unhindered. It makes me think of David. As he looked up to God's heaven he was left with a deep sense of wonder. He could really see far.

You know, some may think that they can see a long way in the daylight, but that is not true. At midnight one can see the stars. (wow). That leads me to say that it would be short sighted to live always in the light. Are you following me? When darkness covers us (I speak of situations, now) we think that it is for our bad and perhaps harm. Not so. It actually helps us to see.

Often times God allows darkness to be ours, even in the middle of the day. During such times we need to look at it from a different perspective.

Ask God to give you "eyes" to behold and "faith" to believe. May you be given insight to Proverbs 3:5-7.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your paths."

My prayer for you

Lord, if this one is indeed going through a dark night - help them to know that in the darkness there You are. May such a trust in Your Word help them to see far, even though it is dark."

Amen
