Words for Courageous Living

May 24th

It Is What One Can't See

I am told that there are minerals called hydrophanous, which are not transparent until they are placed in and under water. One, a semitranslucent opal only becomes transparent on immersion in water. So some people. How so?

When some people get "in hot water" i.e. find themself in great adversity, beauty appears in their life. There is something about a trial that CAN bring out the best in a person. Now I am not suggesting that we go around looking for trials, problems, difficulties, heartaches, but when they do come - let's USE THEM. Many live lives that are clouded by selfishness, etc. and trials can clear away the obscurity and give distinctness and beauty.

I am told that if one places a real diamond under water and beside it a fake diamond that the contrast is apparent to any on looker. One does not have to have a trained eye. Being under does something for it.

My friend, if you feel you are really under it all, let God help you SHINE forth as a genuine jewel of the King.

I like Malachi 3:17.

"They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, on the day that I make them MY jewels."

My prayer for you

Lord, I present to you this living jewel. I ask, in the name of Jesus, that you give a great sense of peace to them. If they are in a difficult situation - if they are in "deep water", may their faith enable them to shine forth. May they not be overcome, but be an overcomer through You.

Amen
