From time to time I have written about clouds. I like the words in Job 37:21 which read:
"Men see not the bright light which is in the clouds."
I am persuaded (from personal experience) that we look at clouds of difficulties, etc. from the wrong side. How so? Well, from the earthly side when looking UP at them, they appear dark (if it is a rain or storm cloud). But from the heavenly side - like from an airplane - the cloud gives a different appearance. From that side the appearance is one of brightness because the sun is shinning on the cloud. This, of course, is the age old problem of looking at our problems. Will it be from the earthly side or the heavenly side.
If you could only see your sorrows, heartaches, situations from that side.
Let me share with you this old poem:
I cannot know why suddenly the storm should rage so fiercely round me in its wrath; But this I know - God watches all my path, And I can trust. I may not draw aside the mystic veil That hides the unknown future from my sight, Nor know if for me waits the dark or light; But I can trust.
I have no power to look across the tide, To see while here the land beyond the river; But this I know - I shall be God's forever; So I can trust.
How many times has darkness swept across the pages of one's life giving them the sence of living IN and UNDER a cloud. Yet, how many (and I trust you are one of them) have discovered that God is IN the cloud. Focus and again I say focus on the "son of righteousness" shinning on top of your cloud.
Lord, I ask in the name of Jesus, that this on-line caller be given the courage to view a situation through which they are going from the "right" side. May encouragement be theirs. May you bless and keep this one safely in your care while they are in "their cloud".
Amen
