February 12th
I have an interesting story to share with you.
There was this couple who had above the mantle in their living room a plate with the picture of where the two had gone to school. One day their son was playing with a ball in the room and the ball hit the plate - sending it to the floor. Obviously the one plate became many pieces. So mom says, "Well, I will just have to pick up the pieces and throw it away." The boy, sitting near (and feeling really bad) said, "Don't worry, mom, I'm going to glue them together.
A few days later he came to his mom with the plate. It had been put together so wonderfully, that one would not have known it had been broken.
You know, my friend, I do think this is the way life is. Maybe this day or the next something will happen to you that will cause you to think that your life is "broken", "crushed" or "cracked". When this happens, some think - all is lost. That might be the "natural" reaction.
But God says, "I will make all things new." Isaiah stated: "See, the former things have taken place, and (now) NEW THINGS I declare..." for you. (Isaiah 42:9)
If your "plate" has fallen, I want to encourage you. I want to motivate you to see behyond the natural and to see that Jesus is the "glue man" I speak that way with great reverence for Him. I speak in that way because the Bible does say that "by Jesus all things consist (or hold together).
I want to remind this one, Lord, that in the midst of shattering situations that they may be going through, you are there. Further, there is NOTHING beyond fixing with Jesus. May your blessings rest on this one and may you touch them at their point of need - - with especially peace.
Amen
