I heard that a teacher once asked one of her high school students why he was always cheerful, even happy. The reply was sure a good one. "When I get up in the morning, I figure I have two choices. l. To look at the bright side of things, or 2. to look at the dark side of things. I have decided to look at the bright side. That's my choice.
Well, you and I both fall into that same catagory. We have a will. God has made us all with one, so we can, indeed, choose. Simple choice? NO, and again I say NO. It is not always easy. BUT if a person will "will" to try, the day or evening will be better. Trust me, I know it and I also know that you know it too, from experience, right?
One can choose to dwell on a problem worry about it, agonize over it - well, the whole "9 yards". If this is the chosen route for the hour then our personality will reflect that inward anxiety. Our joy will seriously be affected.
As a Christian, a child of God through faith in Jesus, you can win over discouragement. A positive attitude will give a strong visible appearance.
"A merry heart does good like medicine." (Prov. 17:22)
This does not mean you will be void of your problems and situation, but it does mean that you are in the driver's seat, not the problem. It will not run your life.
Lord, I ask that this one, with your help, take charge of a situation that might be pulling them down. May they by faith choose (will) to look to you instead of their problem, in the name of Jesus.
Amen
