Three Treasures I received
A. Intimacy with God
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
Verse 4 says, seek peace where I have caused you to be carried away captive and pray.
This is more than just prayer. It is a quest for God out of an earnest desperation.
I needed Him to move in my behalf. It was a matter of surrendering my will to His and experiencing His peace. I had to pour out my heart before Him, weep. Tell Him of all my grief, pain, and frustrations.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
Acknowledge - know by first hand experience. It becomes a life giving intimacy with the Lord in prayer that births blessings and victory.Direct - make straight. God will "straighten out" the path of His trusting Child.
What I received from this intimacy:
- Sometimes the situation didn't change but I had -He's perfecting His image in me.
- I found I had more compassion and understanding for others.
- My heart learned to trust Him more. I learned more how much He loves me.
- I knew He saw me for what I was and accepted me anyway. The unredeemed part of me caused me to turn more fully towards Christ.
II Corinthians 12: 9 Jesus said ….My power is made perfect in weakness
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him."
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
wait -waiting hopefully, expectantly
Psalm 116:1-2 I love the Lord because He has heard my appeal for mercy. Because He has turned His ear to me, I will call out to Him as long as I live.
