Created in His Image
Created in His image speaks of our worth. We're speaking of qualities to reason, personality and intellect with a capacity to relate see, hear and speak. We have been given dominion over the earth with all power and authority in Jesus' name.
We are a spiritual being - body, soul and spirit. This capacity and ability requires accountability. We should strive to be all that we are in Him - allow Him to work in us.
Psalm 139:23- 24 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Daily ask this question. The Lord wants our hearts, not just our verbal allegiance: He desires that our affections be wholly His. This devotion is a matter of developing an intimate relationship with the living God, learning the warmth of a life that draws near to the Father's heart. Developing this requires high priority. We have to discipline ourselves to do it.
Mary said it when she replied to her Lord - "Be it unto me according to Your Word." She submitted her plans and will to the Lord.
I find myself crying out for more and more grace to do this. The challenges in life sometimes get more and more difficult, but then I remember He said He would never give us more than we can handle and with it gives us His strength to go through it.
Thank You, Lord, You are always there for us. Truly You are our reason for being!
You gave Your life for us! Grace us to live our lives in, through, and for You!
It's no so much we do, it's times of opportunity we have each day to give an encouraging word, or smile. It's the little acts of kindness we offer: touch of a hand, a smile, heartfelt counsel, letter written, tender word of encouragement.
Jesus went about touching other people's lives. We are called to do the same. That's why we need the times of intimacy with Him so more of Him can be seen in our lives! More of Him can reach out to others through us.
