Psalm 7:14-17 Praise stops the advancement of wickedness. Praise is an act of the will. He chooses to praise. Offer it because God is worthy and it is right.
Psalm 18:3 Praise spotlight God. The more we put on Him, the more He causes us to shine. Modern medicine attests to the value of bringing a depressed person in to a brightly lighted room to help heal lather depression. How much more will praise introduced the light of God and bring us into the joy of the Lord?
Psalm 22:3-4 Praise will bring the presence of God.
Psalms 47:7 When we sing praises with understanding, we are giving testimony to God's love for us and our love for Him.
When we offer our praises to God we glorify God, but in His wisdom we are the ultimate beneficiaries. We receive power to order our conduct: thus, our life style comes in to obedience to God. We receive a revelation into God's salvation. Our praise becomes a vehicle for God to come to us and to minister through us.
Praise releases blessing and satisfaction. It is not a silent praise. It affirms:
- Clear priorities
- Deep intensity
- Desire for corporate involvement
- Appropriate gratitude, and
- "My soul (the real me) shall be satisfied as with the marrow and fatness". Personal needs met.
